Last year, the Surprise Attack team celebrated Christmas in a battle of brains against an Escape Room. This year, inspired by the indie hit TowerFall, things got a lot more physical… Trading seasonal ribbons and bows for some highly modified bows and arrows, on December 8 the team headed to a vacant tennis court in Melbourne’s Flagstaff Gardens to play Archery Attack.
Joining forces with good friends DBolical, The Other World Agency and our sister company, Double Jump Communications, the publishing team threw down the challenge to Armello developer League of Geeks for a Hunger Games-style afternoon of ‘friendly competition’.
The League of Geeks came out strong, winning the first four games of ‘team releaso’. But the combined publishing team quickly fought back in the ‘hunt the medic’ rounds to make it four all. ‘Capture the flag,’ though, was where it was all decided, and after League of Geeks were caught off guard in the first round with a lightning fast victory by the publishing team, the Geeks developed some wolf pack strategies and took the last few wins. The day finished with some free-for-all craziness.
What a great way to wrap up the end of the year!
Merry Christmas, everyone.
