Today, Surprise Attack Games has officially appointed Marla Fitzsimmons to the new role of Marketing Manager. Marla will lead the label’s marketing activity including spearheading its presence at global events, developing and executing the marketing strategy for the label and its games.
An accomplished games marketer, Marla’s previous roles include Marketing Manager for Nintendo Australia and New Zealand, UK Product Manager for Sony and PR and Marketing Manager at Namco Bandai in the UK.
The appointment comes on the back of continuing commercial and critical success for the company, with surveillance thriller Orwell recouping the company’s investment in three days and picking up nominations for the prestigious Independent Game Festival and South by Southwest Awards.
“I’m thrilled that Marla has joined our team,” said Chris Wright, Managing Director at Surprise Attack. “She brings not just a wealth of experience but also a passion for and understanding of independent, crafted games. We have big plans for the year ahead and this has been the perfect way to start 2017.”
As Marketing Manager, Marla will lead the charge on all marketing and promotional activity for Surprise Attack Games, developing the overall marketing and brand strategy for the label, building and executing marketing plans for each game and driving the label’s increasing presence at global events such as PAX and Gamescom.
